I so enjoyed my time painting in and around the Matfield Green area of the Flint Hills . I stayed at a lovely “artists’ cottage ” on the edge of a prairie , took in the vast landscape, hung out with mustangs and longhorn cattle , and painted away the days on my own and with my fellow painters. The people —-the light that spreads like lit butter across the prairies, and the hours spent painting nourished my soul. I do love this place. The experience will I’m sure influence my future work , and I hope to produce some studio pieces from my painting memory and the bountiful reference photos taken there.
I currently have some of these plein air oils available in the Symphony of the Hills Gallery in Cottonwood Falls , Ks , through November 28th , 2015 , or contact me directly for more information.
